Spiritual Practices Class

Guemes Island Church is offering a class this summer on spiritual practices from world faith traditions. The intention is to come together in heart-opening, mind-expanding ways, to try practices such as chanting and meditating, and then reflect together on our experience. Everyone is welcome.

Where:     Community hall

When:       Wednesdays, 5pm to 6:30pm.

Wed, June 23: “Mindful Consumption,” led by Jon Prescott. We will eat a potluck meal together in silence, and then reflect on the experience.

Wed, June 30: Chanting, meditation and talk on awakening from the ‘small self’ into the freedom of the ‘big Self,’ led by David Slabaugh.

Wed, July 7: Sufi meditation and practices, led by Anne Casperson.

Wed, July 21: Hands-on contemplation through collaging, followed by communion. Led by Joan Henjum.
