Boom Town Boy author Jack de Yonge is a journalist who wrote for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer before retiring to Concrete, Washington. He will be reading from his memoir, Boom Town Boy (Epicenter Press, $14.95), about growing up in Fairbanks, Alaska, during World War II.
Seattle P-I cartoonist David Horsey describes Boom Town Boy as "a wry, engaging story that quickly becomes a great read. [Jack] was a Tom Sawyer on the tundra and his tale is worthy of Mark Twain."
