Implications of Gulf Oil Spill for Puget Sound
Beachwatchers Lecture Series
Last Spring's oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico created an ecological and economic disaster of historic proportions. Implications of such a disaster to the Puget Sound are profound. Please join us 7 p.m., Friday, January 14th at the Anacortes Library to hear Jon Neel, Washington State Dept. of Ecology, discuss the Gulf oil spill, Washington State's spill prevention and response program, and the lessons we can learn to reduced the risk of catastrophic oil spills in the Puget Sound. The lecture is free and open to the public.
This lecture is first in a series of presentations this winter sponsored by the Skagit Co. WSU Beach Watchers, promoting education and stewardship of our local marine resources. For questions regarding this lecture and future presentatons, please contact Matt Kerschbaum at cherrytree2@comcast.net.
