Hello Guemes volunteers!

We (Skagit Land Trust, Marianne and Joost) are organizing a thistle pull on Wednesday, June 29, from 9 am to lunchtime.

Plan on meeting at the trailhead. The more, the merrier – thistle is a tricky opponent! 

It’s taking advantage of the newly cleared trail and recently disturbed soil, and quickly establishing itself along the edges. We’d like your help to remove the thistle before it spreads over more of the beautiful mountain. If you are around the island that day, we would appreciate any help you can give. I’ll bring gardening gloves, but leather gloves help when you are pulling thistle, so if you have them around you might want to bring them along, as well as long sleeves and pants, water, possibly lunch and sunscreen if it’s hot out.
