Alverson Camping Tracts Walking Tour

Please join the GIHS on a walking tour of North Beach's Alverson Camping Tracts. It begins at 3 pm on Tuesday, September 17th.

The tour will be lead by Sally Stapp, whose grandfather purchased property in the tract in 1923. We'll learn of its development, the early families along the beach and see some of the historic structures that remain to this day.

The tour begins promptly at 3:00 pm, so plan on meeting at 5191 Lewis Lane a few minutes before the appointed time. There is some parking available at the Brigham-Stapp residence, but it would be helpful to car pool. We are anticipating great weather, however, dress appropriately for a beach walk, come rain or shine!

The GIHS business meeting (normally the second Monday of each month) has been rescheduled for September 17th as well. It will be held following the tour's conclusion at the Brigham-Stapp residence.
