Historical Society: Down The Hatch With Martin Taylor

Down The Hatch with Martin Taylor

Bert March Leach ferrying picnickers to Harry Rickaby's ELK of Anacortes.

Please join the GIHS as it welcomes guest speaker, Martin Taylor, Monday, November 11.

Martin will present his family's long history on Guemes Island. Martin's grandfather, Frank Taylor, collaborated with Harry Rickaby on the design and building of the Elk, which transported goods and people to Guemes Island in the early 1900's. Soon following, was the purchase of the Guemes property in the early 20's. The family saga continues through the decades to the present day. The program begins at 7pm at the Guemes Island Church.

The regularly scheduled GIHS business meeting will precede Martin's presentation at 5:45 pm. All are welcome to attend.
