The Guemes Island Fire Department is requesting a levy increase on the November ballot.  The tax request is for a levy of 50 cents per thousand assessed valuation.  This is an increase of 18 cents per thousand or $18 per !00,000 of assessed valuation.  With the increase, the total levy works out to $50 per 100,000 of assessed valuation.
