Seven members of the Easton Clan participated in the run and walk.

Peter Haase, Greg Easton, Marcus Merrow, Howard Pellett, and Bud Ashbach are among those Guemes Islanders who have run the Dog Island Run 6 or more years over the past 9 years.

2006 Turnout - This year there were 85 registered runners and 62 registered walkers for a total of 147 participants. Twenty-seven cities were represented and participants came from Florida, Washington, California, and Idaho.

The Guemes Island Library Board would like to thank the many Island Volunteers who worked hard in all operations of the event and helped to make this years Dog Island Run a great success.

The June 3 Dog Island Run was a huge success thanks to the following volunteers: Tom Andrak, Jim and Reva Dugan, Terry Ebersole, Rachel and Matt Fletcher, Leta Hayden, Chuck and Vicki Hallingstad, Mike Jackets, Carol Mays, Joseph Miller, Jim Morrison, Howard Pellett, Cece Spahr, Mike and Becky Stamper, Judy Thompson, Barbara Wagner, and Tim Wittman. Special thanks to Sherri Graham, the Chandler's Square bus driver.

The Guemes Island Library's main fundraiser will provide financial support from the balance of 2006 through June 2007.
