Agenda Items:

Discussed the logic for establishing the Ferry semiannual haul out date.

Scope of work is to replace the two ferry engines, permanent repair of the Anacortes draw span, move the passenger walk of the Guemes dock to the west side, make revisions to the Anacortes Terminal area.

Issues—completion of the Anacortes parking lot and the Guemes parking lot prior to the haul out, combine the work into one outage, arrange for disabled passenger access while the terminal draw spans are unusable, minimize the parking congestion, address any previous safety concerns related to transport of grade school children on the passenger vessel.

Develop a proposed agenda for the upcoming meeting of the Roundtable on January 12th. Items are 1) discussion of ferry haul out schedule, 2) Ability to delay the haul our past June 30 and still comply with Coast Guard Certification requirements. 3) Review the scope of work proposed by the county to address the new fares and schedules recommendations from the Task Force, 4) the status of returning to a 3 person crew operation 5) the status of the March 1st change in ferry schedule, 6) an update from the county on financial issues sent in letter request by the ferry committee on 12/9/05.

Carl contacted Gary Rowe (Skagit County Administrator) on 1/6/05 and found that he had not received the financial material e-mailed to him on 12/12/04. Gary said that he would get a copy of the material also sent to Steve Flude and respond in setting up a meeting with the Ferry Committee. Carl also e-mailed him another copy.

It was agreed that a letter should be sent to the commissioners requesting that Public Works conduct a “Lessons Learned” closure meeting for the dolphin replacement project.

The upcoming ferry committee member election procedures were discussed. Ballots need to be sent out by February 15th and counted March 15th. A volunteer island election committee needs to be formed.
