Holiday Faire
Saturday, Nov. 24,
from 10am to 3pm at the Community Hall.
Can you help? We need
bakers to contribute pies for "pie-by-the-slice" from the kitchen
that day. It will be very helpful if you could let us know you are planning
to bake. Please call Rose at 293-1025.
Thank you!
We will be having
a joint Holiday Decor Rummage Table with the Community Center. Featured
will be Martin Savage's collection of holiday ornaments & decorations.
If you would like to donate items to this table, it would be greatly appreciated.
Sign up to help the
day of the Faire, set-up on Friday evening, or with posting fliers in
town. We need YOU!

Garden
Tour Big Success!
The rain on Saturday,
June 9, did not keep gardening enthusiasts at home. Over 150 visited the
eight beautiful gardens on this year's Tour. $468 dollars have been added
to our Scholarship Fund. An equal amount went to the Community Center
Foundation Restoration Fund.
A big THANK YOU to
the Gardeners who opened their gardens to us and to the members and friends

Sixteen members braved the threatening weather to enjoy a delicious potluck
luncheon and hilarious White Elephant gift exchange - no purple nightgowns
this year, but the boxing nun was back! A sleigh-load of gifts were donated
for the Salvation Army to distribute. The Anacortes Food Bank benefited
with several cartons of donated food items. Thank you all!
Many
thanks to all of you who helped make our Holiday Faire a success!
$977 was raised for
the Guemes Gold Scholarship Program. Some of those who helped were: Alice
Hein & Crew - Decorations; Reva Dugan, Julie Hopkins,
Juby Fouts & all the Brownie/ Cookie Bakers, Refreshments/Kitchen;
Joan & Lisa Gilbertson -Women's Club Sales; the Set-Up Crew (you know
who are!); and all our wonderful vendors!
We'd like to come
up with even more donated crafts for the Women's Club table next year.
We're looking for things that we can work on throughout the year and sell
at both of our big events - any ideas?
Again, Thank You &
Happy Holidays!
Rodin

Jane, Agnes, Bev,
Rose, Emma, Sharon, Bea & Anita enjoyed a wonderful day trip to Bellingham
on October 26. The fall colors & beautiful scenery, a lively luncheon
& fascinating exhibit made us all glad that Rodin had come to the
Whatcom Museum! |
