The requested delay in implementation of two years, implies (a) a shortage of funds, (b) a change in the counties priorities or (c), a new evaluation of all of the necessary steps to accomplish the schedule changes. If it is a lack of funds, then getting a stepped approach to accomplish as many of the lower cost changes would continue the move towards a convenient and accomodating ferry schedule-- with the changes spread over the longer period. If it is change in priorities, (these have not been explained) it may take a more sustained effort to challenge and place the ferry operations higher in such a priority schedule. It is obvious that the proposed changes are not going to be done by March 1 this year. It is difficult to believe it should take two more year. My efforts on the committee would be to implement as much of the change as possible as soon as possible. - Jim |

Addressed to both candidates: If the county continues to postpone implementing the recommendations from Berk & Associates, what would you do? |
