GUEMES ISLAND FERRY SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT
Emergency Brakes & Icy Conditions

The staff at the Guemes Island Ferry would like to remind everyone that as we move into winter the walkways, sidewalks, and pathways will be icy, especially in the mornings and evenings. Please watch your step as you move about from your vehicles to the vessel. Also, the grated portion of the ramps are especially slippery in the winter.

Please DO NOT walk or ride your bicycle on the grated portion of the ramp at any time. Instead, we ask that you please walk your bicycle down the pathway to the boat.

Please also remember to set your vehicle’s emergency brake at all times while on board the ferry. Your parking brake will keep your vehicle from moving or hitting another vehicle during rough weather or rough landings.
