Treasurer’s report - Checking account balance is $2,808.95 and the Roz Glasser Shoreline fund is at $9,706.54.

Hal Rooks led a discussion on the proposal to seek funding for a new water study by the USGS, an update and expanded version of the one produced in 1995.  It was decided that GIPAC should come up with a purpose statement to be used in future discussions with possible funding authorities.   Hal Rooks updated the board on his and Nancy Fox's meeting with Hal Hart of the Planning Department and John Cooper, county hydro-geologist.

There will be a public meeting on January 29th during which the Skagit County Commissioners will decide on what code amendments to docket for 2019.  GIPAC currently has two amendments, one concerning wells and one concerning rainwater catchment.  We need lots of Guemes Island folks to show up to support these amendments.

Patti Rose updated the board on shoreline restoration work at the Peach Preserve.  It looks like most of the plantings have made it through so far.  She will be ordering some additional plants in the coming months to augment those already been planted.

Michael Brown announced that Phil Fenner as agreed to host the next coffee klatch to discuss water issues on the island.  We are hoping to schedule this sometime in February.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
