LineTime Directors Endorse Steve Orsini

Soon a ballot for the upcoming election for a seat on Guemes Island Ferry Committee will be delivered to every registered voter on Guemes Island. There are two candidates vying for the seat. Both are qualified, but only one has extensive maritime experience: Steve Orsini

Both are permanent Guemes Island residents. Only on grew up and went to school here and raised his children here: Steve Orsini

Both are aware of current issues surrounding the new ferry but only one has 25 years experience in ferry matters - its history, its design and operation and the issues surrounding it: Steve Orsini

Both want to serve on the Ferry Committee but only one candidate has volunteered on a number of other island organizations including planning and environmental issues and only one has devoted uncountable hours working with the County, leading Ferry Committee meetings and attending County meetings and hearings: Steve Orsini

Both candidates weighed in on a proposed Guemes Island-only ferry taxing district. Only one opposed it as an unfair burden on a small portion of the County population: Steve Orsini

There is no one here more determined to look out for the interests of riders - improving service such as adding additional runs and managing costs to minimize fares than Steve Orsini.

We have followed ferry issues long before we started LineTime fifteen years ago and have been tracking them closely ever since. Over the years, we have had many conversations with Steve about ferry matters and we remain convinced that he is far and away the best person Guemes Islanders could find to represent the riders. We are grateful that he is willing to continue. So, vote for Steve Orsini for the Guemes Island Ferry Committee.
