Regular Commissioner Meeting

July 8, 2019
Commissioner Margeson called the Regular Fire Commissioners meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Present: Commissioners Margeson, Murphy, and Crawford, Chief Francis, Assistant Chief Snell, Treasurer Davelaar, Secretary Kankaala, and Lieutenant Enos
The minutes of June 10, 2019 were unanimously approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Beginning June Operating Fund cash balance was $76,912.13. Beginning June General Investment Fund balance was $11,817.03. Beginning June Capital Fund cash balance was $72,844.83. Beginning June Capital Investment Fund balance was $33,384.72. Grand total is $194,958.71.
June expenses were $5,456.58. Payroll for June was $2,598.38, and FF stipends were $1,310.00.00 for a grand total of $7,672.63 in June expenditures.
June revenue included $682.54 in taxes collected, $365.00 in donations, and $23.75 in interest.
Note: This month’s donation is in memory of Jim Morrison.
District 17 Commissioners reviewed and approved the Treasurer’s Report, invoices, and firefighter stipends.

District 17 adopted a modified burn ban on July 2, and Skagit County adopted a modified burn ban on July 12.
Old Business:
Vehicle Numbering System
Skagit County is still in the process of trying to configure the vehicle numbering system, so that system complies with federal law.
Chairman Margeson presented an initial list of considerations regarding potential new property for GIFD. The District 17 Commissioners are in the process of researching bonds and grants to purchase land, when found, and build a new fire station.
